The leader in the corner-store market in North America, Alimentation Couche-Tard has 34,000 employees and more than 4,900 sales outlets
In 2003, Couche-Tard approached the Van Houtte network to evaluate its coffee offer and to acquire solutions that would optimize it.
A dedicated Marketing Research team orchestrated an in-dept analysis with Couche-Tard consumers and employees to better understand their needs in terms of equipment and coffee.
With the result of this research, VKI and Van Houtte have developed a custom-made solution for Couche-Tard.
This total coffee solution was carried out to:
• Ensured the profitability of the coffee program for the retailer
• Created a presence of the brand
• Offered easy upkeep and filling of the machine
• Provided an easy-to-use selection interface for the consumer.
Within only a few months, VKI was able to integrate Couche-Tard's specifications into a coffee solution package developed expressly for this company.
In 2004, the model used at Couche-Tard in Québec was personalized to Mac's stores in Ontario.
